McCain’s Favorables Match Personal All-time High

March 18th, 2008 at 08:33pm Matt DiBari

According to Gallup via Hot Air.

Gallup Favorable Ratings

The 67% approval rating matches his high from February 2000. This is up from a low of 41 percent last summer.

It is the highest approval rating of the three candidates, beating Obama’s 62 percent and Hillary’s 53 percent. McCain also has by far the lowest unfavorable ratings, and his overall +40 dwarfs Obama’s +29 and Clinton’s +9. Republicans have a higher opinion of him than Democrats do of either Obama or Clinton. Democrats and Democratic leaning independents like John McCain more than Republicans and Republican leaners like Obama or Clinton.

In short, America just likes John McCain, and that could be more important than any single issue come election day.

America may like McCain (highly doubtful because of his support of Bush’s war of terror in Iraq), but the reality is that a democrat is going to be chosen for the presidency this year. The Republican party missed an opportunity when they conspired to marginalize Ron Paul.

These vast right wing conspiracies never cease, do they? First Bill Clinton now Ron Paul. The humanity of it all.

You’re completely right, JD. The Republican Party has condemned itself to destruction this year because it did not take seriously the persistently lucide ravings of Ron Paul. I wouldn’t be surprised if we’re obliterated from the face of American politics for this severe and heinous transgression now that I think about it.
