Adding to what Matt covers in the previous post, check out this piece. While all we hear is that Sen. Obama opposed this war from the beginning and that he would end it immediately as President, the word we continue to get from some of his foreign policy advisors is that Sen. McCain really is right on this thing and you can’t pull out of Iraq precipitously without opening a new world of devastating consequences for the United States, Iraq, and the broader struggle against radical Islam.
As Michael Goldfarb writes, ”If [Sen. Obama's] policies on the war will not be all that different from McCain’s, he should stop ridiculing McCain for saying openly what his own people are saying behind closed doors.”

This is the issue that really worries me about an Obama presidency. He has shown no grasp of the issue. I’m not sure if he’s trying to be deceptive, or if he just has no clue. Either way it’s disconcerting, as the way the war is handled could effect the county and the world for decades to come.
