Rice for VP?

Republican operative Dan Senor and ABC News is reporting that Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is taking steps to woo various conservative elements and thereby place herself in a position to be Sen. McCain’s running mate. Ignoring whether this is likely or even foreseeable, she would bring more than a couple of assets to the ticket. She is intelligent, accomplished, articulate, and (if it is important to you) would bring both racial and gender diversity to the ticket.
Ultimately though, I would not counsel her selection. In this election the country will be seeking to move past the Bush years, and both opponent and supporter of the President alike is ready to move on. Sec. Rice has served in that administration and been a close counselor to the President from the beginning. Her presence on the ticket alone would make it all the more easier for Democrats to make their disingenuous claims that Sen. McCain is running for a third Bush term. Enough to disqualify her in my book.

Google “condi rice bean” to see why she would bring even greater diversity than just racial and gender to the ticket, one the Democrats wouldn’t mind…
BTW, she’s “mildly pro-choice” according to a 2005 interview with the Washington Times.
There’s not a chance in hell’s basement McCain would pick her.
Hey, what about Cheney? He’s five years younger than McCain. I don’t think there’s a limit on VP years, either =/

Let’s find someone else please. We need to get a semi-republican in the White House, and that’s going to be a fight so lets not add to the misery of it all.
