During the Clinton years, Unemployment was higher and everyone was sitting around complaining about their taxes constantly going up. With a fragile economy, soaking the taxpayers with more burdensome taxes could push families living check to check straight into bankruptcy.

To punish the hardworking Americans with higher taxes will only reduce their buying power and create more dependence on government.
Hard work should be rewarded not discouraged.
Eliminating taxes on overtime hours worked would put some extra money into the hands of the folks that need it the most (the working class). Just tax people on 40 hrs, anything more is theirs. They did the work, why not let them keep more of their cash?
