Matt is entirely right. If Sen. Obama had decided to base his campaign upon policy and his own political accomplishments than that is what we'd be addressing. He didn't however, instead basing everything upon amorphous rhetoric and his ability to unite all of us and to transcend politics as usual. His own unscripted views and his unseemly associations with Rezko, Wright, Ayers, et al belie that.

Barack Obama launched his state senate campaign in Bill Ayers *living room.*

I'd consider that "contact."

Barack Obama's own website maintains that he's friendly with Bill Ayers.

If Barack Obama were running on some sort of legislative achievement, or accomplishment, or he could point to some concrete reason he should be President of the United Staes, this would be less of an issue.

Instead, Barack Obama is running on his "judgment." Which, unfortunately, includes the things he does, the things he says, and the company he keeps.

Judgment includes a lot more than a speech from 2002. no matter how many times Barack Obama says anything else is a "distraction."

What a crock. Senator Obama has NEVER called Bill Ayers his friend. Obama was 8 years old when Ayers was involved in the Weathermen. The only real contact he has had with Ayers is serving on a couple of boards. I guess that is guilt by association. It is pretty pitiful when the ony case you can make against someone you obviously dislike is to throw out this kind of garbage. Why don't you make a real argument against obama's policies or positions instead of attempting to continue to stir up this type of tripe? This is what I consider "hitting below the belt".
