I admire McCain's service and some of his work in the Senate. I'm generally more fiscally conservative than Obama seems to be. But I can't escape one thing -- to me, this war in Iraq has been one massive foreign policy catastrophe, poorly planned and poorly executed. And this was a mission that McCain supported from the beginning, and I can't escape the terrible judgement he showed there. Does his policy now seem more fully formed and comprehensive than Obama's? Yeah, but is it so much stronger that I should ignore his track record of poor (or awful, really) decision-making on the issue? I just find that too hard to ignore.
