Obama’s Civilian National Security Force

Barack Obama quote, “We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.” YouTube Clip
This was slipped into a speech addressing public service, and I’m going to have to confess that I’m dumbfounded. What in the world is he proposing? A non-military security force that is funded the same as the miltary? What are their powers and why are civilians being put in charge of national security? Why shouldn’t we rely on our military to achieve national securiy objective? Isn’t that’s the whole reason for having a military. This needs some serious explaining. Any new government organization comparable in size and funding to the military would need explaining, but a civilian national security force is radical and illogical.

I read this, then I watched it via youtube. Then I imagined. What would a “Civilian National Security Force” just as “powerful and well funded” as the military, well…look like?! To start you would have to look at similier groups in from the past. So who has had “Civilian National Security Force’s”?
Ok, so I started with China, they had a domestic security force to, the Red Guards who assassinated, imprisoned, and terrorized millions of suspected political opponents during the 1960s and 1970s. Ok that is China a communist state, well who else? The former Soviet Union, under Stalin had death camps enforced by their security forces the “Main Directorate for State Security (GUGB”. Also communist who else has had “Civilian National Security Force’s”? Lets try Nazi Germany- Some great examples, like say the Hitler Youth, or maybe we could use the Schutzstaffel aka the SS. That is what comes to mind, and the ensuing police state that would accompany such a force seems funny the media feels no need to report.
MSM ignores matters of importance and feeds dribble to the masses.

This whole thing of Obama’s makes no sense what so ever. How dare he go over to Iraq while our president and senator McCain are fighting a holy war on terrorism to keep the whole good and God fearing Christian world safe? Who elected him to anything and why did our president allow him to meat with the President and Vice President of Iraq? It’s an outrage.
Our President is fighting a war on terror and trying to bring Christianity to a part of the world that needs it the most. (Our Constitution, Bill of Rights and Declaration of Independence mentions Jesus Christ a total of 234 times…. who says we are not a country steeped in Christ?) The fact that elections are going forward at all is a mystery to many of us. We should have learned from WWII that you don’t change horses in the middle of the stream.
What about the faith based initiatives that our President has imitated? Don’t they mean anything? Basically, we’re saying that anyone who doesn’t believe the Jesus Christ is our lord and save year, and just get the hell out of our country!!!

Did you do any research on this?
So what exactly is your question???

Joe - I listened to the entire speech. I’m not opposed to promoting public service, but he never explains what “just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded” as the military means. Frankly he never really explains what he means by a ‘Civilian National Security Force.’ Just don’t understand how he can drop something like that into a speech with no explanation, an no one asking any questions. It’s bizarre.

Perhaps it was rhetorical. Perhaps just trying to state that he intends to make this a major part of his Presidency.
I highly doubt anything in this world could come close to the funding that goes to our military (regardless if you agree with that spending or not) and I highly doubt anyone could find the money.
People do speak in rhetorical terms sometimes to make a point.
But hey… take those words however you want to take them.
I often wonder what the media is thinking when they don’t question candidates about things…. kind of like why would nobody question this nugget???
I mean really… does that really make any sense? Yet nobody questioned it.
Oh well… not sure how we can force the media to actually do their job once in a while.

Well we’re in agreement on the media. It’s maddening that they don’t cover issues.
I don’t understand that quote either.

It’s a simple, easily verifiable, fact of history. The Surge was John McCain’s brainchild and once it was implemented, the Anbar Uprising started and the violence in Iraq stopped immediately.
The whole thing happened exactly as Mr. McCain said it did. Who are you going to believe and trust? A United States War Hero and long time Senator or a bunch of godless liberal news hacks? Another easily verifiable fact is the fact the no American Military personnel or Backwater Contractor has been wounded, much less killed in over 18 months. The numbers we see are fictions of the same liberal news media.
All CBS News did was correct a simple mistake. John McCain. Would have said exactly what the CBS edits did, except he’s distracted by what that uppity Obama is doing over in the Holy Land. Another place he has no business being. The Holy Land is the birthplace of Jesus Christ and no one except Christians have any right to be there

So I guess Obama sees us as a well-regulated militia now! Maybe he’s not so bad after all…
Seriously, though, I was looking at the McCain/Obama comments at Opposing Views, and we’re getting our asses handed to us. The Obama supporters are out in full swing. We need to weigh in on this stuff:

Hey, Folks, I undertand the Obama comment. Obama wants A PRIVATE ARMY THAT WILL BE LOYAL TO OBAMA. The word used in Nazi Germany was “putsch.” The word used in a sane America, when freedom of the press still prevailed, was TREASON.

Obama / Osama Whats The Difference
He wants America out of Iraq and Afghanistan. He is OK with letting 12,000,000 illegal aliens remain in the United States. He is OK with negotiating with Iran. He had a Muslim Father. His stance is arguably Anti Israel. Hard to spot the difference isn’t it?
Now he seems to want a quasi SS sort of organization within our borders and I am betting Osama is digging that too.

Exxon profits top 11 billion! Jesus Bless Them! There is no depression! That 11 billion will trickle down to the Republican Party and sweep us into power once and for all, and for all time!
We on the march toward victory and many of our goals have already been accomplished. May Jesus bless the Exxon executive and the Republican Guard General Staff! They deserve all the money they can get for they will use it to kill our enemies both here and abroad, and promote Jesus Christ, converting all either by the word or the sword!
100,000 scientists cannot be wrong! 100,000 scientists have assured us that this Global Warming nonsense is nothing but a liberal plot to destroy the world!
The only thing that can stop us is the election of that democrat (I can’t even stomach saying his name) and a greater democrat majority in the congress.
Halliburton has already build a string facilities to be used for relocation/re-education of dissidents, trouble makers, and those who might need a little help coming to Jesus inn the middle and boarder states. Those who won’t swear allegiance to John McCain, George W. Bush and Richard Cheney will make the list. And when the time comes….
We also intend to roll back a few of the amendments that should never have been passed. That Clinton woman getting as far as she got should give you clue as to one of them.
What Man has made in error, Man can make right.
Onward Christian Solders!
Marching on to War against those who would destroy what we are building!
A new World Order with Jesus Christ at the Center and John McCain as His spokesmen here on earth!
Yours in Christ, J.D. Stephens
