Ok so, he may have called in sick that day.

That is some sickness... he hasn't voted in the Senate since April 8. He's missed over 60% of the votes in this Congress.

Way to represent!

Brad,
That was probably a bad example since he didn't vote AGAINST it. He just opted to do what he does most of the time.... not show up for the vote.

So cut your condecending crap on math.

Although there is a thing called "The Internet". You can use it to research the votes. You should learn how to use it sometime.

Here... let me help

"McCain voted against partially repealing a tax deferral regulation for U.S. multinational companies by requiring those companies to pay federal income taxes on foreign factories when goods are re-imported back into the United States.

[S 1637, Vote 83, 5/5/04; Passed 60-39: R 51-0; D 8-39; I 1-0]"

Okay. Math isn't my strong suit but if the Republicans voted in favor 51-0 I am assuming John McCain was included in the Republican tally.

BTW...was there a corresponding tax on foreign companies shipping goods to the US or would it have just put US multi-national companies at a competitive disadvantage? Of course because we are part of the WTO we couldn't have added those levies on foreign multinational corporations without risking retaliation.

(Actually math is one of my strong suits as is international economics.) You might want to try it some time.

So McCain wants to get the best price possible for the citizens of this country and believes in free trade and limited spending. He's got my vote!

Come vote in my polls on who will be McCain’s VP and who should be his VP.

First off…

For Release: Tuesday, June 10, 2008
UAW endorses Barack Obama for president
The UAW International Executive Board has unanimously voted to endorse Sen. Barack Obama for president, the union announced today.

Second… regarding this comment - “my plan to create and keep good jobs at home”

One of several examples the Obama campaign passes along of McCain being against "Buy American" provisions:
- "Lastly, I am also disappointed that the bill once again this year contains a Department-wide 'Buy America' requirement, and specific language directing the Secret Service to purchase American-made motorcycles. I firmly object to all 'Buy America' restrictions, as they represent gross examples of protectionist trade policy. From a philosophical point of view, I oppose such policies because free trade is an important element in improving relations among all nations, which then improves the security of our Nation. Furthermore, as a fiscal conservative, I want to ensure our Government gets the best deal for taxpayers and with a 'Buy American' restriction that cannot be guaranteed." [Congressional Record, 7/14/05]
----
The Obama camp also backs up its claim that McCain "supported billions in tax breaks for companies who ship American jobs overseas" with the following:
- McCain voted against an amendment to repeal tax incentives for domestic companies that move their manufacturing plants to offshore locations. The amendment would have used the resulting revenue to reduce the federal deficit by $3.2 billion from 2006 to 2010. [SCR 18, Vote 63, 3/17/05; Failed 40-59: R 0-54; D 40-4; I 0-1]
- McCain voted against partially repealing a tax deferral regulation for U.S. multinational companies by requiring those companies to pay federal income taxes on foreign factories when goods are re-imported back into the United States. Employers also would be required to notify employees and the Labor Department when jobs will be moved offshore, including the number of jobs affected, the relocation destination of those jobs and the reason for the relocation. [S 1637, Vote 83, 5/5/04; Passed 60-39: R 51-0; D 8-39; I 1-0]
- McCain voted against amendment to create a reserve fund that would allow increases of up to $24 billion for fiscal 2005 through 2009 for employment initiatives including tax credits for companies that create new U.S.-based manufacturing jobs and small businesses that provide health care coverage. [SCR 95, Vote 41, 3/11/04, Failed: 41-53: R 0-49; D 40-4; I 1-0]

So no… McCain may say that he is fighting to keep jobs in the U.S., but his actions tell a different story.

Score. McCain's doing great.

Guys - can you behind a McCain/Palin ticket?
Look us up, it's the best VP shot. McCain may be doing this but he's given no indication other than the fact that he is going after Hillary supporters.

This article about John McCain is great, Democrats and Republicans both should be able to see that John McCain plan will bring prosperity.

UAW workers might even be impressed with this part.

"my plan to create and keep good jobs at home"
