Obama’s Double Talk Express
Last week I reported on B4V that a member of Obama’s campaign told a Canadian official not to take Obama’s NAFTA rhetoric seriously because it was only campaign speak. Obama’s campaign denied the story of course, but the Canadian TV station which originally revealed the story stood behind it.
Now a memo has surfaced supporting the original claim.
According to the memo obtained by The Associated Press, Obama’s senior economic adviser told Canadian officials in Chicago that the debate over free trade in the Democratic presidential primary campaign was “political positioning” and that Obama was not really protectionist.
This put the Obama Spin Machine into motion.
The adviser, Austan Goolsbee, said his comments to those officials were misinterpreted by the author, Joseph DeMora, who works for the Canadian consulate in Chicago and attended the meeting.
In Carrollton, Texas, Obama told reporters: “Nobody reached out to the Canadians to try to assure them of anything.”
Nice try. Obviously Obama has been caught, not only lying in his campaign rhetoric, but lying about a meeting his campaign said a couple days ago never took place which they now admit did take place, only that the meaning of the words were interpreted incorrectly. It’s quite clear that Obama has been caught being another disingenuous Democrat.
